Website: https://discover.me/ ยท Type: Agent-built professional directory (from Jamie Pine, creator of Spacedrive & Voicebox)

Why it exists

Resumes and LinkedIn profiles are self-reported theater: curated claims with no evidence, written once and stale within months. Meanwhile the real record of a builder โ€” repos, commits, shipped apps, maintenance activity โ€” already exists on disk and GitHub, but recruiters can't read it and agents can't verify it. Discover.me flips the flow: your own agent (or their assistant "Lisa") reads your actual work, publishes a clean profile from it, and attaches verifiable proof ("verified โ€” proof pulled: 30kโ˜…, npm 8M+ installs"). The result is a profile that is both human-readable and natively agent-searchable โ€” "human discovery for the agent era."

Main features

  • Agent-built profiles โ€” your coding agent fetches discover.me over MCP, reads your local projects, and drafts the profile; approve and publish.
  • Lisa, the built-in assistant โ€” no agent? Talk to Lisa (web chat) and she interviews you and builds the profile; a phone option is marked "soon".
  • Verified claims โ€” the system pulls real proof from GitHub, npm and other sources rather than trusting your bio.
  • Structured, agent-readable output โ€” profiles are JSON documents (projects, skills, offers, links) at a stable URL, so other people's agents can find and evaluate you.
  • Live directory โ€” a browsable slice of what people are actually shipping, each entry agent-generated from real work.
  • Spotlight & Discover tiers โ€” claim a clean name (discover.me/yourname), get listed in search, host your own agent; a separate "Discover" product lets recruiters ask Lisa who's building what and who fits a role.

Who it's for

  • Builders with real output but weak self-marketing โ€” the profile writes itself from your repos.
  • Indie hackers and open-source maintainers who want to be found for consulting, jobs or co-founder matches without maintaining LinkedIn.
  • Recruiters and investors (the "Discover" tier) who'd rather query an agent over verified work histories than skim keyword-stuffed resumes.
  • Agent enthusiasts who want a destination their personal agent can publish to and be evaluated at.

How it compares

  • LinkedIn โ€” universal but self-reported and noisy; Discover.me entries are generated from verifiable work with proof attached.
  • GitHub profiles / personal sites โ€” raw signal that requires humans to dig; Discover.me distills it into structured, agent-consumable form.
  • Traditional rรฉsumรฉ tools (the resume builders in this library) โ€” optimize a static document for human gatekeepers; this optimizes a live profile for agents and humans.
  • Wellfound / hiring marketplaces โ€” two-sided marketplaces with listing fees and inbound spam; Discover.me is a directory with query access for the people doing the hiring.

Notes

  • Free tier: agent-built profile at discover.me/profile/your-id, public and reachable, with projects, skills, offers, links, and agent-readable JSON.
  • Spotlight ($59/yr, launch price $9/yr) claims your vanity name and search placement; Discover ($390/yr or $39/mo, coming soon) is the recruiter-facing query product.
  • Granting an agent read access to your local projects is the whole point โ€” review what it publishes before approving; profile content is public once live.
  • Founded by Jamie Pine (Spacedrive, Voicebox) โ€” the directory itself features real builders, which doubles as a live demo of the format.
  • New and small โ€” the value grows with directory density; early adopters get the vanity names.
